So after reading an article on insects being sold quite widely on the internet for human consumption and then Sainsburys stocking crickets to possibly move people to the healthier alternative to crisps I was intrigued. I wanted to find out a little more, surprisingly there is quite a hype around this and some concerns that in 2050 food sources are going to start running low.
I couldn’t face taking a trip to Sainsburys as I haven’t managed to do my roots of recent or managed to get up in time to complete the whole wash and diffuse process that comes with the joy of having naturally curly hair. I can cope with just the locals seeing me as they see the struggles I face each morning herding the children to school. So Amazon it was, the selection was huge! I opted for the I’m a Celebrity pack after reading the reviews and thinking it was a safe bet, some of the packaging on other items were designed around the child market however they looked more like a bag of toy insects and the kids would have been mortified – or so I thought.
I struggle with getting Louis to eat new things, I’m trying to poison him by introducing new veg according to him. Cabbage and sprouts are a no go zone so I was desperate to cook pizza and sprinkle some worms on it and see what his reaction was. Bella however ruined the opportunity for me as she spotted the packaging before I managed and wanted to do the usual Youtube moment to show the world her adventure. So off she goes pinching the laptop and straight onto Photo Booth and starts filming with the usual dramatic chirpiness that is rare off camera. I feel for her future partners in life already!
So if you’ve been following our story you’ll know that the kids really want to make a difference, yes at times they can be selfish and fall out with each other but they have such big hearts and realise that they are more fortunate than others. I hope to keep this thinking alive with them and they continue to want to improve lives or people and animals.
